THE CITY TALK

WHAT IS SÃO PAULO’S VIBE?
It is a very mixed vibe. Like in any big city, every neighborhood has its proper vibe, but here you really have ten cities in one. It almost feels like a country. It is so huge. But I like it, it is a very cosmopolite, young and dynamic city.

WHERE DO YOU GO TO HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF NATURE?
Ibirapuera park! I go there to run, to walk, or when I need to hug a tree.

FAVORITE NEIGHBORHOOD?
These days I spend 90% of my time in Jardins. I love the neighborhood because I can walk everywhere: I live here, Dominique is here and I have a lot of friends here.

DO YOU FEEL SAFE LIVING IN BRAZIL?
I do. But as a girl I am always looking behind my back. Of course there is a big insecurity but because I was not raised here I don’t think I understand how Brazilian feel about it.

WHAT SPECIFIC BRAZILIAN STYLE IS INSPIRING TO YOU?
Prints, and everything more summer-ish.

SUNDAY BRUNCH?
I love going to “Chez Oscar“, in Jardim Paulista.

CINEMA?
Going to the movies here is amazing. They have these VIP rooms where you can order wine and food. Whenever I’m in the mood of this kind of American experience I go to the movie theatre in Cidade Jardim.

HOW WOULD YOU ADVERTISE SÃO PAULO FOR SOMEONE TO PUT IT ON HIS TRAVEL LIST?There is a lot of art and events around it happening all the time like the Biennale, and also we're two hours away from paradise.

MY NEXT QUESTION WAS GOING TO BE WHERE DO YOU GO TO WHEN YOU WANT TO RELAX AND GET OUT OF SP?
My favorite place is Catuçaba where you can find the amazing Fazenda Catuçaba Hotel. You leave your phone and computer out. It becomes all about Nature there.
Beach destinations: I love Rio of course, and I love going surfing  in Itamambuca.

ARE YOU A SURFER?
I am a wannabe-surfer.

WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING RIGHT NOW?
I am reading an old book that I never finished, which is called Sefarade from Eliette Abecassis. My mom was from Morocco, so I like learning more about the culture. But the last very inspirational that I read is called Soil, Soul and Society, about how we urgently need to change our relationship to planet Earth.

DO YOU EVER FEEL NOSTALGIC ABOUT NOT LIVING IN FRANCE ANYMORE?
I don’t miss it in the sense that I can “have” it whenever I want, as I travel back to Paris quite often. I feel I take the best of both France and Brazil.
