DO YOU THINK BEING A WOMAN IS A POWER?
Yes, I think it could be. I think I got many things by using my feminine side. Obviously, the world is based on sex. Have you seen the movie Erin Brockovich with Julia Roberts? Thanks to her boobs, things get done. Of course it’s just a cherry on the top. It’s a tool. If you love to be a woman and you feel good about yourself, it can help you do anything you want.

WHAT PART OF YOUR FEMININITY DO YOU FEEL THE MOST EMPOWERING?
My big boobs! (Laughs)

YOU’RE SUCH A BABE!
Joke aside, I think the way I move and the way I speak are how I express my femininity. I can’t catch anyone’s attention with my small breast. Only my little fiancé is happy with my small boobs.
I would have liked to have bigger boobs though, but I’m not unhappy with what I have. Anyway I see my femininity as a whole and that is why I like to play with it. For example if you play the guitar in a very manly way but you are also feminine, then it gets interesting. I love working on the androgynous style. Because of my four older brothers, I was almost born a boy. I’m both actually. And guys I go out with, usually like this mix.

I FEEL THAT YOU ARE VERY EASILY FRIEND WITH BOYS BECAUSE YOU UNDERSTAND THEM, GROWING UP WITH BOYS MUST HAVE HELPED. AND MAYBE YOU SURPRISE THEM IN A POSITIVE WAY WITH YOUR FEMININE SIDE, YOUR SENSUALITY. IT’S A POWER TO BE BOTH A MAN BUDDY AND FEMININE!

(LAUGHS) DO YOU TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF?
I shave my mustache every morning, I wax my ass… (laughs). Of course, I take care of myself. I try to take extra care of my tricky skin. I take care of my teeth. I always buy new products, shampoo, oils, moisturizer. I love cosmetics, I fell in that trap.

WHY DO YOU FEEL IT’S A TRAP?
Well because it’s not when I’m using fifty products that I am the prettiest. I find myself looking better when I don’t pay attention to it. When I go surfing for example.

HOW DO YOU FEEL WHEN YOU BUY THOSE PRODUCTS?
I feel stupid! Although when I buy a perfume at Santa Maria Novella I feel super chic. For the rest, I rather hide myself buying it.

YOU HAVE PRUDISHNESS ABOUT YOUR FEMININE SIDE THEN?
Maybe, but on the same time I have been waxed by a guy once. So yes and no.

DO YOU HAVE ANY BEAUTY INSPIRATION?
Yes Penelope Cruz! She’s the coolest. Until recently, I was unable to answer that question. I really thought about it and realized I loved this actress. I loved her in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, she is very jealous but so pretty and wild. I thought I wouldn’t mind being jealous like her. I think whatever your body (obviously some women have more luck than others), what makes you pretty is your energy. I feel ugly when I’m tired, I have nothing to give. When I’m very energetic, I have a thousand jokes to tell, I feel pretty without even seeing myself in a mirror.

IS IT BECAUSE YOU GET THE ATTENTION? DO YOU THINK IT MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL?
It depends how people look at you. My first goal is to interact with people, the attention is the result. I like when people have something to say as well. Sexiness is linked to the brains.

DO YOU HAVE ANY BEAUTY SECRET?
I feel pretty when I succeed. For example, when I secretly worked on my songs and then sang them in front of an audience, I thought ‘I did it’. I felt pretty. When I surf a great wave and I get out of the water, I feel pretty too.

YOU FEEL ACCOMPLISHED…
If I wasn’t an artist, if it was just me and my body without being accomplished in any field I think I wouldn’t be happy about myself. For me beauty is linked to accomplishment too. It has nothing to do with how people look at me, it’s only how I look at myself.

YOU ALWAYS SAW YOURSELF AS A CREATIVE PERSON…
I started so young. Boys started to be interested in me because I was special. So I developed that thing I had.

I FEEL THAT IN EVERYTHING YOU SAY, YOU’RE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR ATTENTION EVEN IF YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF A FREE THINKER.
It’s my moon in Leo, it’s a sign that is craving for attention. It doesn’t mean it’s bad. At school when I had to speak in public, I would always turn red. A Leo can be shy. I am moved to see how I changed. Yet when I draw, I wonder what people are going to think, how my drawings are going to be seen.

IT’S FUNNY, AT THE SAME TIME YOU DO AND DON’T CARE ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE THINK…
If when I was a child someone had criticized my drawings, I would have believed it because I didn’t have confidence. I was just lucky everyone thought my drawings were great. Confidence comes slowly, earning it. It’s not something I had in me. I was very well surrounded. This ‘I don’t care thing’ I have, is just because I don’t feel destructible anymore. I have constructed myself already. It’s done.
