THE BEAUTY TALK
WHAT PART OF YOUR FEMININITY DO YOU FEEL EMPOWERING?
I grew up with three brothers so I think, my masculine side! Although since I recently came back to live in São Paulo after Europe, I feel I changed and now I like to take care of myself. But I always feel underdressed here compared to my girlfriends. Of course I am feminine but it is hard for me to see that in me.
HOW HAS YOUR ROUTINE EVOLVED THROUGH THE YEARS?
I don’t do anything. Like, I don’t even think I ever used a cream on my face, I really have the worst diet, I cut my own hair… Thankfully, I have good genes. Now that I am back in Brazil, I try to go to the dermatologist to get skin cleanses but I just hate having to. Even if it makes me feel prettier. I find beauty routines painful. I see it more as an obligation.
ISN’T IT ANYTHING YOU FIND SATISFYING BEAUTYWISE?
Massages! (Laughs). It is an easy way to make your body look good. I don’t feel the pain, I even enjoy it. Strong massages. When I can afford it, I will be having massages everyday.
HOW DO YOU GET PREPARED TO GO OUT FOR A FANCY DINNER?
If it is really fancy than maybe I’ll go to the hairdresser. Having a nice hairdo and nice skin will make me feel good looking. Whereas I am not really a brand person; I wont feel better if I wear expensive clothes.
ANY BEAUTY TRICK YOU LEARNED FROM YOUR MODELLING DAYS?
I actually don’t, that can explain why I gained ten kilos in four months which lead to cracking my pants up the day before the Balmain show I was supposed to walk in, which obviously got me fired (laughs). You know how it is: first time living abroad on your own, amazing food, drinking and going out…
WHAT KIND OF WOMEN DO YOU FIND BEAUTIFUL?
French girls. They are the opposite of vulgar. Small boobs. When I was 19 years old I decided to get silicone and now I hate it. I guess I am not Brazilian in the way I appreciate women bodies: here we like athletic thighs, big butts, over production with make-up, clothes. To me a beautiful woman is one that doesn’t try to call attention through her looks.
SINCE YOU CAME BACK TO BRAZIL DO YOU FEEL PRESSURED TO FIT THESE DIFFERENT AESTHETICS?
For sure. Here I feel pressured to spend money on material things like a new bag when I don’t need nor really want to.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOURSELF?
I think the fact I can make people laugh since they rarely expect I would say the things I say.
